I’ve been known amongst friends and family as the go-to girl
for music suggestions for most of my life. On my Tumblr account, username
behold-and-love-this-giant, I have playlist requests from various followers,
which I fill to my best ability. It may sound conceited, but whenever you get
people asking you what they should be listening to at least once a week, what
are you supposed to think?
With that being said, I am a huge Daft Punk fan. Long story
short, I’ve loved Daft Punk since I’ve seen their “One More Time” video snippet
from the Interstella 5555 film on the Cartoon Network anime block Toonami when
I was 8 years-old. I always connected the strongest with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo,
a.k.a the “gold robot”, the strongest. Whenever he speaks during interviews
(those rare times), everything he says aligns with what I believe
perfectly—especially bands that he says he knows and loves.
One day the thought occurred to me: what if Guy-Manuel asked
me to make a playlist for him of bands that I thought he would enjoy? The
thought itself seemed creepy, but I acted on it anyways. And here we are, with
a 36 song, a little over 2 hours long playlist of bands I would suggest to
Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk, if he were to hypothetically ask.
Which is unlikely.
